Edinburgh Fringe 2023

RELAY - a brand new musical comedy

Leila’s new musical comedy, RELAY, will premiere at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe at the Pleasance Courtyard. The production is part of the Pleasance Edinburgh National Partnership, presented in collaboration with the Sherman Theatre.

Inspired by Leila’s real-life experience, RELAY is the true story of how she and her partner made a baby at home using their gay best friend’s sperm, just months after Leila was told she was “likely infertile” at age 24.

Blending personal storytelling, six original songs and stand-up comedy, the show explores themes of fertility, ambition, queer family-making, and bodily autonomy with warmth and wit.
